Last Days in Lima – Pisco Sours and the Magic Water Circuit.

The Gran Hotel Bolivar, Lima. The Gran Hotel Bolívar is a historic hotel located on Plaza San Martín in Lima. Designed by noted Peruvian architect Rafael Marquina, it was built in 1924 and was the first large, modern hotel built in Lima. During its time, the hotel has attracted such as Orson Welles, Ava Gardner, John Wayne, John Kennedy and even Mick Jagger where many, like Brunyfire and Miss W, also discovered the local cocktail, the Pisco Sour.At the Gran Hotel Bolívar’s comfortable bar, Hemingway is said to have consumed record-setting amounts of Pisco Sours, reported to be the best in Lima – so of course, this theory needed testing………….yep – some of the best!

Magic Water Circuit.  So after a Pisco Sour or three, it’s just a stroll away from the Gran Hotel where the magic of the Magic Water Circuit occurs. Inaugurated on July 26th, 2007, it was a major municipal project, becoming a  city icon and symbol of the recovery of public spaces in Lima. It has thirteen cybernetic fountains supported by the latest technology, where music, water, sound and laser light are mixed to display unique and incredible shows.
